This article aimed to demonstrate that sole custody is more likely to generate parental alienation. In this way, in order to avoid such a problem, shared custody becomes a very effective alternative mechanism in reducing the possibility of alienation occurring, as this can be viable in the search for inhibiting parental alienation, and in aiding mental health. of child. To this end, the methodology is based on articles and books, qualitative bibliographic methodology. We start from the hypothesis that this present research proposes to present shared custody as an inhibitor or not of parental alienation practiced by parents, a conduct that can cause the so-called Parental Alienation Syndrome in children. This research aims, therefore, to collaborate with a better understanding of the topic “shared custody”, as it is very important both for psychology and for the area of law and jurisprudence, as it recognizes the right of children to maintain a healthy relationship with both parents after separation.Downloads
