The participation of psychologists in a hospital setting is fairly recent. In such spaces, where medical predominance is the norm, psychologists have made great progress due to positive effects benefitting both patients and professional alike. Academic research pertaining to psychology and its performance in the hospital setting still lacks the necessary guidance in certain fields including hospice care. In light of this, this bibliographical research aims to investigate the health production even in the final stages of life. Furthermore, it aims to explore the integration of psychologists into the hospital setting and discovering new understandings of disease processes. Lastly, it highlights the complexity of a terminal illness diagnosis and the need for hospice care given this new idea of health production.
