PHARMACEUTICAL INTERVENTIONS ALLIED TO PHARMACOECONOMICS IN ONCOLOGICAL UNITS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Pharmacoeconomics is of fundamental importance in health economics, presenting very important results for decision-making in clinical practice, in the hospital environment and in other health sectors. However, it is still an area lacking studies and dedicated professionals in Brazil. The objective of the study is to analyze the evidence on the contributions of the pharmacist in pharmacoeconomics in oncology units between 2012 and 2022, knowing the interventions and the benefits adopted, to characterize and discuss the productions on the subject. A search was carried out in the SciELO, BVS, Science Direct and Web of Science databases, using the descriptors Pharmacoeconomics AND Hospital Services for Oncology, with translations into Portuguese and English. Articles available in free access for download were included. However, pharmaceutical interventions and evaluation of prescriptions, for example, can identify drug-related problems (DRPs), which can prevent adverse events, reduce financial losses and add immeasurable value to patient safety. That way ,Pharmaceutical clinical assistance, in addition to providing patient care, ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmacotherapeutic treatment, also has a considerable financial impact due to the expenses that have been saved,during this care process, avoiding further damage that could generate more cost to the institution.
