Abstract

This article aims to analyze the relationship between pandemics, the environment and capitalism. It is believed that the determining factor for the emergence of an infectious disease at the level of a pandemic is directly related to the environment and capitalism. We will discuss how the environment as an unlimited source of inputs for human life can be harmed, and how capitalism accelerates the wear and tear process. The article highlights concepts and problems based on old and still recurring problems, so that the reader understands the seriousness of the unbridled interference of human beings with the environment, and that the consequences can destroy not only the environment but also our own species. Those who are actually feeling the weight of the consequences are the ones causing the chaos themselves. Below, the article outlines some possible actions to reduce the impact that human life causes on the environment. As a methodology, the inductive, statistical and observational method was adopted. The monographic procedure, using bibliographic and documentary research procedures. This article is characterized in terms of its objectives as descriptive and explanatory. To collect data, research is used in books, articles, newspapers and the internet.
