Abstract

This article aims to point out the origin and history of the WELFARE STATE and with that to draw a parallel with the Covid-19 pandemic. The Welfare State is a kind of State that grants social protection through welfare and interventionism, ensuring social rights for the population. Above all, it is preferable that the government in this type of State should preserve the population's quality of life and promote formal and material equality. This article intends to draw a parallel with covid-19, which is a social health problem capable of generating exorbitant problems, even more because of its spread in a community way.
