Through the present study, it aims to address the socioeconomic aspects of immigrants and refugees in Brazil, to propose microcredit as an instrument of social and economic insertion in the perspective of Muhammad Yunus. Migration flows in Brazil have changed over time, so that immigration from the 18th and 19th centuries, focused on colonization and labor for farming, gave way to humanitarian immigration in the 21st century, which results from the violation human rights, natural disasters and economic crises in the countries of origin. Thus, immigrants and refugees entering Brazil claim the effectiveness of rights by the state; However, Brazilian public policies have been insufficient to guarantee the minimum civilizational level. From this perspective, many remain in poverty without access to their inherent social rights, factors that limit economic growth and human development. From this perspective, there is a need to provide alternative work mechanisms, in order to reverse or minimize the effects of their vulnerability in Brazil. The research methodology is bibliographic and documentary, descriptive, qualitative and theoretical in nature. The results show that Muhammad Yunus's ideas of giving microcredit to the excluded to develop their own businesses and achieve self-sufficiency are mechanisms applicable to poor immigrants and refugees in the country as a way of overcoming the precarious social situation in which they live find.
