ORGANIZATION OF THE STATE IN FRONT OF COVID 19 IN THE PRISON SYSTEM

This article analyzes the main regulations adopted by the State in order to face Covid-19 in the prison system. The Covid-19 Pandemic brought with it the restriction of various activities of the population, including in prison. Its objective is to understand how these norms were applied in the units, considering the health emergency in prisons and what their impact on the other rights of individuals inserted in these spaces. To this end, a study of legal norms at the federal and state levels was carried out to identify the standards of treatment of the matter in the State, through bibliographical and documental research and deductive method. As a result, it was concluded that several regulations were published at the international, national and state levels, in order to face the covid-19 in prison spaces, regarding basic hygiene measures, care for workers, transparency of information, treatment with the relatives of the incarcerated population, among other measures. It is worth mentioning that some measures carried out in prison environments were not effective in coping with the disease.
