Abstract

This article aims to analyze the Brazilian prison system, regarding the reintegration of the prisoner into society. The legal terms of the Brazilian legal system will be observed, as well as the way in which the authorities act to apply public policies and the criminal execution law (which, despite being from 1984, is a current law), in order to insert the egress in society. It is a broad study, in which the state prison system and the federal prison system were observed, in which it is possible to identify a larger organization, which even follows the rules of international treaties, for example, the “Mandela Rules”. In turn, it is observed that prisoners live in degrading and inhumane situations.
