Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy can lead to postpartum depression, affecting the mother and the family. Objective: To highlight the nursing care in postpartum depression, considering risk factors and psychosocial implications. Materials and Methods: A literature review was conducted with 18 articles published between 2015 and 2022. Results: Nursing intervention in the prevention of postpartum depression yielded positive results, but further improvement and additional analyses are needed. The majority of women felt secure in their interaction with nursing professionals. Conclusion: Nurses play a crucial role in ensuring safety and humanization of care. More studies are required to enhance the work of the nursing team, overcome resource limitations, and promote continuous education and training.
