Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) is a sexually transmitted infection (STI). CT can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and result in tubal infertility and ectopic pregnancy. It is an asymptomatic infection, which occurs in 80% of women, making its diagnosis difficult. The objective of the article is to characterize patients infected with Chlamydia trachomatis in reproductive age. This is an integrative literature review. Ten articles were found in the literature that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. It was observed that the mean age of patients affected by CT is 32.9±5.4 years (range 20 to 47 years), most patients live in urban centers (70.6%) and most report up to five years of infertility (53.9%). Pharmacological treatment will depend on the site of infection, the age of the patient, and whether there is another coexisting infection. Thus, the impact of CT on the female genital tract requires safe and quick medical interventions, as well as screening procedures to investigate this agent. Thus, pharmaceutical care (or pharmaceutical care) is a set of services provided by the pharmaceutical professional related to the drug, aimed at the patient. The practice of pharmaceutical care is effective in promoting the control of STIs by providing guidance on these pathologies, however, it is possible to perceive that there is still a distance from the population to the demand for this service.
