PERFORMANCE OF THE OBSTETRIC NURSE IN HUMANIZED CHILDBIRTH

Introduction: Humanized childbirth focuses on changing clinical practices, avoiding unnecessary interventions, thus placing women as protagonists, autonomy in the process is offered, providing security and respect. Objective: To identify the importance of the obstetric nurse in humanized childbirth care. Materials And Methods: Integrative review, the production was consulted on the official platforms Virtual Health Library (BVS) and Online Scientific Electronic Library (SciELO), which made available publications from various institutions such as the Regional Medicine Library (BIREME) and Latin American Literature and of the Caribbean in Health Sciences (LILACS). As an inclusion criterion, journals in databases were used, in Portuguese and English, and between the years 2018 and 2023. With the exclusion criterion being journals published prior to the year 2018 and that deviated from the proposed theme. Based on the analysis of 42 publications, 14 were used because they corresponded with the purpose of this work. This bibliographic survey was carried out between August 2022 and June 2023. Results: The importance of obstetric nurses for expanding the assistance provided to the prenatal, childbirth and postpartum process, aiming at the humanization of all stages of childbirth. Conclusion: The essential importance of providing humanized assistance during the delivery process. Being the nurse the professional prepared with current scientific basis.
