It is necessary to understand that there is a phenomenon to be observed, woven a critical construct and directed a look at their effects in the society of the present time: police violence against the police itself. The constant news of violence and deaths of public safety professionals who commit crimes against their own workmates, or third parties, such as family and friends, raises a very important alert, demanding research and immediate solutions on the subject. This article aims to present the problem, the theoretical foundations that can support the hypotheses and highlight possible solutions. For this, in addition to the historiographical study and the insertion of concepts from different fields that can contribute to the discussion, it permeates the psychosocial and institutional perspective, expressing an important concern that affects society.
