The Maintenance Management is an important matter in the current technological scenario, because the industries need to extract the full value from its resources and fixed assets to remain competitive and ensure its market participation. Maintenance as a study area involves the integrated knowledge of the company in each sector and equipment, deciding where, when and why to apply each type of action. The applications of these action plans seek the satisfaction of internal and external customers, ensure reliability process and the quality of finished products within the set deadlines, in addition to control and minimize costs and increase the useful life of machinery and equipment always aiming at continuous process improvement. In this work we applied the tools to brainstorming survey of process failures and representation through the Ishikawa diagram, using the Pareto diagram for prioritization of potential causes of failures to be combated. Then it was held the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis - FMEA for unwanted potential effects and their recommended corrective actions. Finally, it was elaborated a Standard Operating Procedure - SOP for adjustment and positioning of the grindstone and inspect the wear levels.
