When a bibliographic survey is carried out in the field of human sciences - anthropology, history, sociology, etc. -, it is noticed that the word “subjectivity” is an expression that can be understood in several ways. Subjectivity, then, concerns what we are. This article aims to discuss the historical and social influences that are still adopted today to define behaviors of what it is to be and how to be women and men. Highlighting that it is through gender identity, our sexual orientation, that we elaborate our own subjectivity, relating to other people.
