INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT): WORK TOOL FOR EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS AND TEACHERS

Education professionals such as teachers, managers, support educators have suffered fear, insecurity due to the lack of information, training and technological materials. Further increasing inequalities and limitations to face the new challenges in the school environment in the face of this new scenario caused by Covid-19. From this context, the main objective of this study was to verify the difficulties encountered by education professionals to use information and communication vehicles for teaching remotely. The methodology used was a field research, descriptive and with a qualitative approach. The research participants were teachers from the public school system in the state of Pernambuco. The data collection instrument used was the questionnaire and the data obtained were analyzed in a qualitative perspective. The results suggest that blended learning requires the frequent use of ICTs, which highlights the need for greater investment in both professional training and equipment in schools. This pandemic period has shown that it is no longer a matter of choosing to use ICTs or not, but the need to use these resources so that there is greater familiarity with this type of teaching, as well as because it is a reality that cannot be denied. Concluding that it is necessary to face the challenges and overcome possible obstacles so that ICTs are effectively inserted as a pedagogical tool and as another resource for improving the quality of teaching and learning in public schools.
