The profile of the executive assistant has undergone several transformations throughout its history, and in recent years with the advancement of technology and the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the changes have been intensified. Such changes made the professional adopt an even more adaptable and analytical profile within organizations, incorporating multifunctional activities, at a managerial and strategic level, which demand knowledge, skills, and complex competencies within their attributions. Given the above, the objective of this work was to investigate whether the secretarial professionals working in the Extension Courses in Language Teaching at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) act as co-managers. As a methodological procedure, bibliographical research was carried out, using qualitative approach, developed through an autoethnographic research. From the collected data, it was possible to analyze that the functions performed by secretarial students at the institution are related to the functions of a co-manager. In addition to the document analysis, an autoethnographic report was also prepared by the author who worked at the Spanish Language Extension Course (CELES), reflecting on the activities carried out as Secretary during her internship period.
