Abstract

International trafficking in persons for the purpose of exploitation has been one of the most prominent themes in current scientific research, as it is recognized as a serious problem of violence against human rights. Thus, this article aims to investigate the relationship between the main determinants of trafficking in persons in light of human rights. The methodology applied is bibliographical in nature, which includes the reading of many important studies on the subject. In addition to this, it was possible to find out the statistics, data and reports from each country at the international level. Through these data, it was possible to identify the main difficulties in the international action to deal with this drama and to what extent this drama transgresses fundamental human rights. It is hoped that, in addition to providing knowledge about the social conditions and the challenges in applying effective measures at the international level, this will contribute to raising awareness in society about the increase in the investigation of trafficking in persons and the need to take steps to ensure that fundamental human rights are preserved.
