Abstract

International animal trafficking is a very serious matter in Brazil and in the world, due to criminals who remove species from their natural habitat for profit, the consequences are often the invasion in mass in the life of these animals, even as the extinction of endangered species. According to research data, it has been found that this type of crime is the third most profitable in the world, generating millions of dollars for criminals. With laws not being harsh for this type of crime, the world of animal trafficking has been growing considerably, as the market turns all around, making a profit with cheaper animals such as birds, marmosets and turtles, going to the more expensive ones, which are primitive birds and snakes. It was concluded that many animals have part of their bodies amputated, such as claws and fangs, so that the animals can be domesticated, since they are wild animals. The method was bibliographical, where several researches were carried out on countless studies related to the subject, besides the doctrinaire and legislative research contained in the Brazilian law and of some countries that suffer with the traffic of wild animals.
