The present study was carried out with the objective of understanding how a sexually abused child can develop bipolar disorder, analyzing the impacts of sexual abuse in the childhood, investigating how the symptoms are presented through bipolarity, and the psychologist's work in the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach in the face of child sexual abuse. The method used in this work is of a qualitative nature, as it is based on bibliographic research in order to produce its development regarding the matter at hand. It is considered that child sexual abuse can potentiate the symptoms of early bipolarity in children. The psychologist's work in the CBT approach used in the context of child sexual abuse aims to produce a cognitive change in the victim's emotional state, empowering the victim through the mechanisms of cognitive learning, which assist in their return to a natural life course, having as an aspect of great importance the family support for the sexually abused child.
