The purpose of this article is to examine parental alienation from a legal and psychological perspective, taking into account the rights that protect children and adolescents. Parental alienation is a social phenomenon that is increasingly present in today's society, and it is important to seek different approaches to deal with this situation of emotional helplessness, in order to promote a healthy family and social environment for all its members. With the increase in separations and divorces, parental alienation has become more common, which enables a more in-depth study on the subject. To carry out this analysis, a bibliographic review method was used, which sought to examine all aspects related to the theme. In the selected studies, there was a tendency to pathologize parental alienation from a psychological point of view, while from a legal point of view it was noticed that, despite the existence of laws, they are not sufficient to deal with the psychological aspects of those involved. Therefore, it is necessary to seek alternative approaches to conflict resolution that take into account both legal and psychological issue.
