As the days go by, new methods of living in everyday life emerge. From the advancement of the internet and technology, the ease of access to the communication network has grown as a means of information and social interaction, causing greater practicality in our lives. In the midst of the pandemic, the number of accesses to the virtual environment has grown, including by the old. The proposed research demonstrates and investigates ways to combat the virtual swindle practiced against the elderly. It studies cases where older people are potential victims because they are not familiar with new digital technologies. It analyzes the growing number of elderly people who are victims of swindle crime, their lack of familiarization with new digital technologies and the lack of public policies as an effective means of protection for the elderly. It verifies public policies for the protection of the old and its effectiveness. It demonstrates the importance of the older person to society, as a citizen as well as any other of productive age.
