Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an important cause of feline lower urinary tract disease, especially in older cats. In cats with CKD, UTI is more common compared to other morbidities and treatment is generally recommended to reduce the risk of exacerbating infection exacerbating kidney damage. Among the main clinical signs, one can mention urinary frequency, macroscopic hematuria, periuria, dysuria and strangury. Diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical signs, urinalysis findings, and quantitative bacterial cultures. UTIs are one of the most important indications for the use of antimicrobials in veterinary medicine and have created for the development of antimicrobial resistance. The decision to treat with antimicrobials should be based on the presence of clinical signs and/or concomitant illnesses and the results of urine culture and sensitivity testing. The aim of this study is to report a case of urinary tract infection by Klebsiella sp. multidrug resistance in feline infectious kidney disease.
