Abstract

Preventive measures should be seen as an investment and not as a cost to the business. In order to obtain positive results, all participants must strictly comply with their responsibilities as established in Regulatory Standard NR-35. Falls in civil construction works are real and recurrent, making them a serious public health problem. Occupational accidents caused by falls are associated with the non-use of individual and collective protection equipment that eliminate the dangers, as well as the lack of qualification and training for employees. Accidents at work are events that, in principle, can be prevented by controlling work environments and conditions. Thus, any level of occurrence should be considered a priority for prevention. This article aims to highlight the need to prevent accidents at work, aiming at work at height in civil construction, signaling the importance of the civil engineer in worker safety and conducting the work.
