RUA DO GIZ: THE SIXTH RUA IS MOST BEAUTIFUL IN BRAZIL

Abstract

This article deals with the effects of the election of Rua do Giz, in São Luís - MA, as the sixth most beautiful street in the country and aims to study the effects on tourist activity in the city during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Theories and published research of scholars such as Luiz Octávio de Lima Camargo, Jacques Derrida, among others were sought. The Quali-Quanti method, Bibliographic, Documentary, Descriptive and Data Analysis were used in the development of the research to understand these effects that point to an improvement in the resident's self-esteem and a good perception in the hospitality relationship with visitors and tourists.
