O USO DO ANTIRRETROVIRAL DOLUTEGRAVIR PARA O TRATAMENTO EM PA-CIENTES COM HIV E TUBERCULOSE

Abstract

Human immunodeficiency virus infection represents a significant challenge for the control of Tuberculosis (TB) worldwide. The simultaneous treatment of two infections with a large number of drugs can result in therapeutic inefficiency, adverse reactions, drug interactions and low adherence to treatment. In this scenario, a multidisciplinary approach involving a pharmacist in the team is essential for these patients, in order to prevent, identify and manage problems related to the use of medications. The objective of this study is to carry out a literature review on the use of the antiretroviral drug Dolutegravir for the treatment of people with HIV and tuberculosis. It is a qualitative, exploratory research, adopting the bibliographic review. In conclusion, this study showed that dolutegravir is effective in TB coinfected HIV patients. However, more research is needed to characterize the safety and tolerability of dolutegravir antiretroviral therapy in children and patients with low CD4 counts.
