FROM THE ORIGINS OF PATRIARCHY TO THE RISE OF THE FEMINIST MOVEMENT: RAISING AWARENESS OF WOMEN AND BREAKING SEXIST STEREOTYPES

Abstract

The present study analyzes the evolution of the history of Brazilian society in breaking sexist stereotypes, bringing as a starting point the origins of patriarchy and tracing a line of thought between the cradle of male domination and the emergence of the feminist movement. In this sense, we approach aspects of everyday life, the political scope and the construction of knowledge to theoretically support the discussion, dialoguing with authors such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Jorgelina Albano, Flávia Biroli, Judith Butler, Guacira Lopes Louro, Djamila Ribeiro, Márcia Tiburi, Valéria Veiga and others.
