Oral health plays a crucial role in the overall well-being of the pregnant woman and the healthy development of the fetus. Problems such as cavities, periodontal disease, and oral infections can have negative effects on maternal health and, consequently, affect the growth and development of the baby. In this context, dental prenatal care is essential for maintaining the oral and systemic health of the pregnant woman, directly reflecting in the prevention of future complications for the baby. In light of this, the aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge of pregnant women about the interrelationship between pregnancy and oral health. This is a descriptive study, conducted through the application of a structured questionnaire. The investigation addressed the main oral problems faced during pregnancy, the associated risk factors, the type and frequency of the guidance received, as well as the impacts on the health of the mother-child dyad. Furthermore, the study proposes strategies for promoting oral health during pregnancy and emphasizes the importance of integrated multidisciplinary action among dentists, obstetricians, and nursing staff. It concludes that it is essential to regularly implement educational and preventive measures aimed at pregnant women, as well as to increase the dissemination of information about the safety of dental treatment during pregnancy.
