This study aimed to analyze the effects of physical training on reducing sarcopenia in older adults, highlighting its importance in promoting health, functional independence, and quality of life. It is an integrative literature review, conducted in six stages, including defining the topic, searching databases, selecting studies, extracting and organizing information, critical analysis, and synthesizing the findings. The PICo strategy was used to formulate the guiding question, considering older adults with sarcopenia, physical training as an intervention, and the context related to health and functionality. The search was conducted in the Virtual Health Library, encompassing the LILACS, MEDLINE, and BDENF databases, with a time frame from 2019 to 2025, initially resulting in 120 studies, of which 4 were selected after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicate that resistance training and its variations promote increased muscle mass, improved strength, reduced body fat, and gains in functional capacity, contributing to fall prevention, greater autonomy, and improved quality of life in older adults.
