Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) share grappling fundamentals but have distinct rules and competitive demands. This study aimed to analyze the technical, tactical, and physical contributions of integrating the two disciplines to the performance of high-level athletes. An integrative literature review with a qualitative, descriptive approach was conducted. Searches for articles published between 2021 and 2026 were carried out in PubMed, SciELO, LILACS, and Google Scholar. The analysis indicated that judo placed greater emphasis on grips, off-balancing, and throws, whereas BJJ focused more on positional control, transitions, and ground submissions. Both disciplines required strength, power, muscular endurance, grip strength, and recovery between intense efforts, although to different degrees. Integrated training offered opportunities to broaden athletes’ range of actions and adaptability during bouts, provided that it respected each sport’s rules, training specificity, and fatigue management. The study concluded that integration has technical, tactical, and physical foundations that may inform athlete preparation. However, the studies analyzed did not demonstrate improved competitive performance resulting from combined judo and BJJ training programs.
