This article sought to analyses the work of the administrative team of the Integrated Health Care Subsystem for Civil Servants at a federal university in the Northern Region of Brazil, considering their responsibilities, workflows and the challenges relating to healthcare for federal civil servants. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, conducted through bibliographic and documentary research, involving an analysis of legislation, institutional manuals, administrative reports and scientific publications. The results showed that technical and administrative staff perform essential functions in organizing healthcare services, managing documentation, monitoring medical assessment processes, using the SIAPE Saúde system and liaising between teams and institutional departments. Challenges were also identified relating to work overload, limited human and technological resources, the need for continuous training and institutional recognition. It is concluded that strengthening technical and administrative roles depends on professional qualifications, improved working conditions and the integration of organizational processes, thereby contributing to greater effectiveness in the health-related work carried out by these staff members.
