Falls are an important health concern among older adults and may result in injuries, functional limitations, loss of autonomy, and reduced quality of life. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of functional training to fall prevention in older adults. This is a literature review based on scientific studies addressing aging, balance, muscle strength, functional capacity, and fall prevention. The results indicate that functional training can improve strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and functional capacity, contributing to the reduction of factors associated with fall risk and helping older adults maintain their independence.
