This article aimed to analyze recent Brazilian scientific production on scientific literacy, focusing on studies that adopt interdisciplinary approaches. It consists of an integrative literature review conducted using the SciELO, CAPES Periodicals Portal, and Google Scholar databases, covering national publications available between 2020 and 2025. Open-access studies published in Portuguese and related to scientific literacy from interdisciplinary perspectives were included, while duplicate studies, works not aligned with the topic, and exclusively bibliographic studies were excluded. In total, 20 publications composed the corpus of analysis. The results showed that Interdisciplinary Islands of Rationality and Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequences are the main strategies used to promote integration among different fields of knowledge. Furthermore, the discussion of topics such as the COVID-19 pandemic, fake news, and anthropogenic impacts demonstrated the potential of Socioscientific Controversies to foster the articulation of knowledge and the development of critical thinking. It is concluded that interdisciplinarity expands the possibilities of scientific literacy by promoting the understanding of complex problems and the development of citizens capable of interpreting information, evaluating evidence, and making informed decisions.
