IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ACADEMIC PORTAL FOR THE INSTITUTO SUPERIOR POLITÉCNICO LUSÍADA DO HUAMBO

Abstract

The digital transformation of higher education institutions has increased the need for solutions that facilitate access to institutional and academic information. This study aimed to develop an academic portal for Instituto Superior Politécnico Lusíada do Huambo in order to organize and provide academic and institutional information in a centralized and accessible environment. The study was characterized as applied and descriptive research, using direct observation, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires to identify users' needs and system requirements. The study involved 11 participants, including five students, three lecturers and three administrative staff members. Based on the information collected, functional and non-functional requirements were identified and used to guide the development of the solution. The portal was developed using WordPress, supported by graphic editing tools, and structured to provide institutional information, academic programmes, departments, administrative staff and other relevant content. The results demonstrate the development of a web-based solution aligned with the initially identified requirements. Further systematic tests of functionality, performance, security and usability should be conducted and reported to strengthen the evaluation of the proposed solution.
