Abstract

This study analyzes the challenges and perspectives of implementing circular economy practices in the metallurgical industry, considering structural, operational, and cultural aspects. The objective was to understand how metal reuse, recycling, and revaluation can contribute to sustainability and competitiveness in the sector. The methodology adopted consists of an exploratory literature review based on scientific articles and books published between 2021 and 2025. The results show that the transition to circular models depends not only on technological innovation but also on organizational transformations and consistent public policies. It is concluded that the circular economy represents a strategic opportunity to reduce environmental impacts and strengthen process efficiency in the metallurgical industry.
