The present study aimed to analyze the offensive playing methods associated with the goals scored by the top four teams in the 2025 Brasileirão Betano, namely Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, and Mirassol Futebol Clube. The research was characterized as a descriptive observational study based on the frequency distribution analysis of 262 goals scored across 140 matches. The goals were classified according to the predominant offensive playing method identified in the attacking sequence preceding the goal and were categorized as Counterattack, Fast Attack, Positional Attack, and Set Piece. Furthermore, the results were analyzed considering the competitive context of the opponents, distinguishing between Well-Placed Teams and Poorly-Placed Teams. The findings demonstrated a predominance of Fast Attacks, while Set Pieces, Positional Attacks, and Counterattacks showed similar distributions. In addition, significant differences were observed according to the competitive contexts analyzed, with a higher occurrence of Counterattacks and Fast Attacks against Well-Placed Teams, and a predominance of Positional Attacks and Set Pieces against Poorly-Placed Teams. The results suggest that the offensive playing methods associated with the goals scored by the analyzed teams are influenced by the competitive context, highlighting the importance of tactical flexibility regarding offensive construction strategies in high-performance football.
