Civil liability has remained an important topic over time, as it regulates relationships between people, ensuring that the rights and duties of each individual are respected. In the world of work, understanding how this liability works is essential. This article aims to show how the concept of civil liability is applied in the Labor Court, considering the rights of workers and the obligations of employers in cases of accidents at work. To this end, it explains how Labor Law fits into the Brazilian legal system, defines what an accident at work is, analyzes the concept of civil liability in this context and, finally, discusses the liability of employers when accidents occur in the workplace. After analyzing several doctrines and specific standards, it was concluded that these accidents are considered risk situations related to a professional activity, which can lead to losses or damages. In order for civil liability to be recognized, it is essential to present evidence that the employer failed to fulfill its obligations to provide a safe work environment and adequate conditions. In addition, it is important to establish a direct link between the employer's conduct and the losses suffered by the worker.
