Abstract

The energy transition and the reduction of carbon emissions are essential pillars in tackling global climate change. In this context, public buildings, due to their high energy consumption, play a significant role in greenhouse gas emissions. This work proposes conducting an energy audit at the Federal Institute of Amazonas – Manaus Industrial District Campus (IFAM/CMDI), based on the ISO 50.002 standard, aiming at energy efficiency and the feasibility of transforming the building into a Zero Energy Building (ZEB). The initiative seeks to identify waste, propose sustainable solutions, and promote innovation in institutional energy management. In addition to contributing to IFAM's sustainability goals, the project aims to serve as a replicable model for other public institutions, strengthening the link between educational practice and the contemporary challenges of decarbonization.
