Educational Speech-Language Pathology operates at the intersection of health and education, contributing to the promotion of communication, learning, and student participation in the school environment. This literature review article analyzes the relationship between educational speech-language pathology practice and the main legal and regulatory frameworks related to Basic Education, Special Education, and professional practice in Brazil. A bibliographic search was conducted in official repositories of the Ministry of Education and the Federal Council of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, followed by a descriptive and qualitative analysis of legal provisions and resolutions. The findings highlight a collaborative, preventive, and intersectoral approach aimed at identifying communication and learning barriers, teacher training, communicative accessibility, the use of assistive technology, and collaboration with Specialized Educational Services. Emphasis is placed on defining professional boundaries, explicitly prohibiting individualized clinical and therapeutic practice in the school environment while directing clinical demands to the Health Care Network. It is concluded that the evolution of legal frameworks strengthens the identity of Educational Speech-Language Pathology as a partner in the pedagogical process, promoting health, accessibility, inclusion, and student participation.
