This article sought to characterize prior records of violence involving female victims of attempted and completed femicide in the Belém Metropolitan Area between 2023 and 2024, considering the frequency of incidents, their characteristics, and the existence of emergency protective orders. The study employed a quantitative, descriptive approach, utilizing bibliographic and documentary research methods. Findings showed that 73.33% of the femicide cases occurred in 2023, while 26.67% took place in 2024. Belém accounted for 53.33% of these incidents, followed by Ananindeua (26.67%), Marituba (13.33%), and Santa Bárbara do Pará (6.67%). Regarding the link between repeat victimization and femicide, 73.33% of the victims had filed police reports prior to the femicide, primarily for threats and bodily injury. The study concluded that it is not uncommon for femicide victims to have previously suffered other forms of criminal victimization, highlighting a history of violence preceding the femicide. It is important to emphasize that the absence of a prior police report does not mean other forms of domestic violence did not occur; factors such as family and social pressure, a lack of trust in official agencies, and even shame or fear discourage victims from reporting abuse, leading to the underreporting of violence.
