This article analyzes the lawyer’s role in mitigating the psychological impacts experienced by applicants of the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC), established by Brazil’s 1988 Federal Constitution and regulated by the Organic Law of Social Assistance (LOAS). The qualitative and interdisciplinary research shows that the benefit request process is marked by bureaucracy, complex procedures, and technical language, which intensify applicants emotional vulnerability. In this context, humanized law practice—based on empathy, active listening, and social responsibility—emerges as an essential instrument to ensure access to justice in its social and emotional dimensions. The study reveals that a supportive and communicative approach by lawyers can reduce anxiety, insecurity, and feelings of exclusion, thus promoting dignity and citizenship. It concludes that legal professionals, when guided by ethics and sensitivity, serve as mediators between citizens and the State, contributing to a more inclusive and humane legal system.
