This study looks at how the 5S methodology was applied in a materials testing lab of a medium-sized company in São Paulo. The goal was to improve the way daily tasks are done and make the workspace more organized, safe, and efficient, using standardized procedures. The research used a qualitative and descriptive approach, with direct observation and questionnaires answered by the team. The 5S steps were followed one by one, in order. After the method was implemented, some noticeable changes happened: the environment became better organized, tasks were completed faster, and workers felt more comfortable in their work area. The process also helped reduce waste and accidents. Clients started to see the lab as more professional, which helped build trust. The method also encouraged better work habits among employees. Even though it's a simple tool, 5S showed it can bring meaningful improvements and support a stronger quality management system.
