Abstract

This article presents an innovative educational model for digital citizenship, considering the specific context of Brazil and the challenges posed by contemporary technological advancements. The study emphasizes the urgent need to integrate digital skills into the school curriculum to promote ethical, responsible, and safe participation in the digital world. Using a qualitative approach, the article is based on a review of the literature and best practices identified in national and international contexts. The pillars of this model include digital knowledge, digital ethics, digital participation, and digital security, proposed to be developed through active learning methodologies and an integrated curricular approach. The proposal further emphasizes the continuous training of educators and the establishment of partnerships between schools, technology companies, NGOs, and higher education institutions to enrich learning and promote digital inclusion. The continuous evaluation of the suggested model involves formative assessments, feedback from educators and the community, as well as the analysis of established partnerships, aiming to continuously adapt and optimize the educational process. This model seeks to create a dynamic and inclusive learning ecosystem that prepares Brazilian students for the challenges and opportunities of the digital world, promoting a more informed, safe, and ethical society.
