Abstract

In Distance Education, the learner assumes a prominent role, being responsible for their own learning. Time management and the active pursuit of knowledge are crucial for success. In Distance Education, the teacher acts as a mediator of knowledge, assisting learners in their journey. The tutor offers individualized support, answering questions and helping to overcome difficulties. The construction of knowledge in the distance modality occurs through the constant connection between learner, teacher, and course. Participation in debates, the execution of tasks, and the search for extra knowledge are fundamental elements for success. From this perspective, the general objective was to identify the interaction between student, teacher, and course in Distance Education (EAD), highlighting the roles, challenges, and opportunities for the construction of knowledge in the virtual environment. Research on Distance Education (EAD) is essential to understand the active role of the student and the performance of the teacher and tutor. While the student must be disciplined and autonomous, educators offer support and guide learning. The research was bibliographical, developed from the examination of academic productions on Distance Education (EAD). Research on Distance Education (EAD) highlights the importance of student autonomy and the performance of the teacher and tutor in the learning process. Continuous support and student commitment are fundamental for success in the virtual teaching environment.
