Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by a group of bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which, through the inhalation of droplets of bacilli from an infected individual, interacts with the host's bronchial cells, establishing the disease. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease in which there are defects in insulin secretion or insulin action. Recent studies have indicated that DM affects the manifestation of tuberculosis, increasing the risk and negatively interfering with treatment. Objective: To analyze and describe the epidemiology of tuberculosis cases in diabetics and their aggravating factors. Methodology: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, observational epidemiological study, the data for which were obtained from information provided by the database of the SUS Information Technology Department. Analysis of results and discussion: In the years analyzed, we obtained a total of 427 confirmed cases, where 10.5% of deaths from TB were diabetics. Final considerations: The findings together with previous studies highlighted the importance of creating new public policies to improve disease management, since Diabetes Mellitus is the second most prevalent comorbidity in cases of Tuberculosis.
