Abstract

This article analyzes the actions of Municipal Guards within the scope of preventive and citizen public security policies, through comparison with public security policies in Brazil. The bibliographical research compares the relationship between the Philosophy of Citizen and Community Security, in the search for reducing violence in the social, community and school environment. It uses a qualitative approach, basic nature, bibliographic survey procedure. The study examines the School Protection Round of the Natal Municipal Guard (ROPE/GMN), the objective of acting through preventive actions in school security in accordance with Federal Law 13022/2014 (General Statute of Municipal Guards) and the attribution of Municipal Guards in Security Preventive. The research finds results of practices in the literature pertinent to the themes of (five) Municipal Guards (GMs), from the cities of Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Curitiba, Goiânia and Natal. To this end, bibliographical research was used as a data collection method, through the content collected in the theoretical framework. The main contribution is to demonstrate the importance of the School Protection Round of the Natal Municipal Guard in the Public Security cycle in Prevention Policies.
