This article aims to carry out an in-depth study in the district of Floriano-PI regarding the implementation of State Law No. 7.985/2023 of the State of Piauí, due to the increase in cases of rape of vulnerable people in the state, which came into force in February 2023, and aims to guarantee the protection of these minors. The aforementioned State Law provides that registry offices notify cases in which the mothers are under 14 years of age so that the competent bodies can carry out their respective functions upon receiving the complaints. The work will be substantiated through the case study carried out by collecting data and interviews with the responsible bodies and gathering their views on this new state legislation. However, although the creation of State Law No. 7.985/23 is to monitor possible crimes of rape of vulnerable people, it presents great challenges, such as underreporting of cases, the victim's dependence on the aggressor, and society's awareness of involvement with minors under 14 years of age, since it is configured as a typical fact. Finally, considerations will be made about implementation, as well as questions about some gaps and difficulties, but in the long term, with the cooperation of the bodies responsible for this inspection, the number of reports will increase and there will be an improvement in training and improvement of the inspection of professionals, as well as the expansion of resources to guarantee the protection of these minors and the effective compliance with the legal provision in the cases reported.
