Play is an activity present throughout children's childhood, contributing to their development. Thus, new games emerged, which were inserted into children's daily lives, encouraging children's participation, especially in the family space and in the school space. In early childhood education, the daycare center provides an observation space for the teacher to understand children's relationship with play, including identifying changes in play and the emergence of new ones. The general objective of this study is to analyze whether children practice old games in the contemporary school context. This study is characterized as empirical research, supported by bibliographical research. The relevance of this study lies in its ability to support the understanding that games are activities that undergo constant changes, and how this process affects children's conception in childhood.
