TECHNOLOGICAL AND SCIENTIFIC PROSPECTION: WORLD PATENT PARANORAMA AND SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS FROM AÇAÍ (EUTERPE OLERACEA)

Abstract

The present work shows a prospective study carried out in databases of patent documents and scientific publications that present technologies generated from Açaí (euterpe oleracea). For this, an Orbit Intelligence platform and a Lens database were used, using the terms: "Açaí", "Euterpe oleracea", "Açaí E Euterpe oleracea", "Açaí OR Euterpe oleracea". 356 patent families were identified with the highest concentration in the food, cosmetics and chemistry segment and 3,392 published articles, with Brazil having the largest number of scientific publications. Finally, the study reveals that the company Mary Kay holds a greater number of active patents, which demonstrates the interest in the potential cosmetics market with sustainable products. Brazil is the largest country in publishing scientific articles, it holds the 2nd place in number of patents deposited.
