THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MULTIPROFESSIONAL TEAM IN THE FIGHT AGAINST OBESITY IN ADULT PATIENTS

Abstract

Excess body fat is a disease that includes environmental, psychological, socioeconomic, genetic factors, among others. The obese patient should have a treatment based on the reduction of the Body Mass Index through a balanced diet, reassessing habits and behaviors towards food, physical activity training and pharmacological treatment. The objective of this study is to prove the value of having a team with multidisciplinary care in the fight against obesity, intending to increase their quality of life, with a reduction in the progression of complications and the great importance of pharmaceutical care in the care of obese and overweight patients.
