This article sought to characterize pressure injuries admitted to a university hospital, through descriptive, exploratory, retrospective and documentary research with a quantitative approach, based on records of consultations carried out by the Skin Care Team for patients admitted to a university hospital in southern Brazil in 2022. There were 276 pressure injuries distributed across 198 patients during hospitalization, representing an average of 1.3 injuries per patient. The age ranged from 3 months to 91 years, with the majority being elderly, and of the total, 120 (60.6%) were male. The risk factors present were cardiovascular diseases and systemic arterial hypertension. Stage 2 pressure injury prevailed, followed by deep tissue pressure injury, both in the sacral region. Injuries are managed through the approach of a specialist nurse, but mainly through the clinical and critical view of the clinical nurse in the daily assessment of the patient.
